Habitat for Humanity Camrose Celebrates Key Ceremony for Local Family
CAMROSE, AB — Habitat for Humanity Camrose hosted a key ceremony today to welcome a local family into homeownership.
The ceremony brought together volunteers, donors, community partners, and supporters to celebrate a milestone that represents stability, safety, and long-term opportunity.
“This key ceremony celebrates what our community can accomplish together,” said Jennifer Edmonds, Executive Director. “Every home we complete reflects the strength of partnership and the belief that everyone deserves a safe, affordable place to live. We’re grateful to everyone who helped make this possible.”
Through the Affordable Housing Fund under the National Housing Strategy, the Government of Canada has made a total funding commitment of $669,000 towards Habitat Camrose projects, including this home.
“Everyone deserves a safe and affordable place to call home. Our government is committed to building more homes Canadians can afford, and partnerships with organizations like Habitat for Humanity are helping turn that commitment into real opportunities for families. Congratulations to the family receiving the keys to their new home today, and to Habitat for Humanity Camrose, whose volunteers, donors, and partners came together—as Albertans do—to make this moment possible.” - The Honourable Eleanor Olszewski, Minister of Emergency Management and Community Resilience and Minister Responsible for Prairies Economic Development Canada
With new construction planned for Fall 2026, including a duplex, the organization remains committed to creating lasting change — one home, one family, and one act of kindness at a time.
